Lines and wrinkles
Lines that appear when you frown, squint or raise your brows are often called “expression lines.” Lines that are visible even when your face is relaxed may be related to volume loss or skin texture.
- Botox® Cosmetic — relaxes certain facial muscles to soften frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines
- RF microneedling — an FDA-cleared option for facial wrinkles
- Laser resurfacing — addresses skin texture and fine lines
Lost volume and deep folds
With age, the face can lose fullness in the cheeks and around the mouth, which deepens smile lines.
- Juvéderm® & Voluma® fillers — hyaluronic acid fillers for specific areas
- Radiesse® — a calcium-based filler for approved areas
- Bellafill® — a collagen and microsphere filler for smile lines and certain acne scars
Loose or sagging skin
A small amount of loose skin on the face or neck may respond to non-surgical tightening. More significant sagging is worth discussing with a surgeon.
- Ultherapy® skin lifting — FDA-cleared focused ultrasound for the brow, under the chin and the neck
- Oligio® RF skin tightening — non-invasive radiofrequency
- PDO thread lift — dissolvable threads for a temporary lift of the cheeks
Sun spots, freckles and melasma
Brown spots from sun exposure and melasma are different conditions and need different plans. Melasma is chronic and can return, so sun protection and prescription skincare are part of care.
- Pigmentation & melasma care — laser toning and combined plans
- IPL photofacial — broadband light for sun spots and redness
- PicoCare® picosecond laser — for certain pigmented spots
Unwanted hair
Laser hair removal targets the pigment in hair, so it works better on darker hair than on light hair, and the right device depends on your skin tone.
- Laser hair removal — a series of sessions for long-term hair reduction
Tattoos
Removing a tattoo usually takes many sessions spaced weeks apart. Some ink colors respond better than others.
- Laser tattoo removal — fading or removing unwanted ink
- PicoCare® picosecond laser — a picosecond laser used for tattoo removal
Acne and acne scars
Active acne and acne scars are treated differently. Many people benefit from a medical skincare plan alongside in-office treatments.
- Acne & acne scar care — prescription care, laser and facial options, and scar treatments
- RF microneedling — collagen-stimulating treatment for the skin
- Medical facials — deep cleansing and extractions
Redness, visible veins and rosacea
Small visible blood vessels and background redness can often be improved with light- or laser-based treatments, though rosacea is a long-term condition.
- Redness, rosacea & veins — vascular laser and light options
- IPL photofacial — for redness and sun damage
Moles, warts and skin tags
Any spot that is changing, bleeding or looks different from your other moles should be checked — and sometimes biopsied — before any cosmetic removal.
- Mole, wart & skin tag removal — removal of benign growths after evaluation
- Minor procedures & skin biopsies — medical evaluation and biopsy
Eyelashes, body contour and everyday skin health
- Latisse® eyelash treatment — a prescription treatment for thin or short lashes
- CoolSculpting® — FDA-cleared fat reduction for specific areas — not weight loss
- Medical-grade skincare — products matched to your treatments
Not sure which concern fits?
That’s what a consultation is for. Dr. Shin’s team will examine your skin, review your health history and explain the options — including when no treatment is the right answer.
Common questions
How do I know which treatment is right for me?
The right option depends on the cause of your concern, your skin type, your health history and your goals. A consultation lets us examine your skin and explain what each treatment can and cannot do before you decide.
Can different treatments be combined?
Sometimes. Some treatments are planned in a particular order or need time between them. We’ll recommend a sequence that suits your skin and the products or devices involved.
Are the people in the photos patients?
No. People shown on our aesthetics pages are models, not patients, and we do not use before-and-after photos on this website.
Important information
- Some treatments listed here are used off-label for certain concerns. Dr. Shin reviews each option, the evidence and the risks with you before treatment.
