Medicine first, then aesthetics

Every aesthetic plan at Shin Family Medicine & Laser Center starts with a medical conversation. Your health history, medicines, skin type and goals all shape which treatments are appropriate — and which are not.

We explain what each option can and cannot do, how many sessions are usually involved, what recovery looks like and the risks, so you can decide with clear expectations. Results vary from person to person.

Not sure where to start?

Most people come to us with a concern rather than a device name. Start with find care by concern to see which treatments may fit lines and wrinkles, sun spots and melasma, loose skin, unwanted hair, acne scars, tattoos or redness.

Common questions

Do I need a consultation before treatment?

Yes. A consultation lets us review your health history, medicines and skin, confirm the treatment is appropriate, discuss risks and set realistic expectations before anything is done.

Can I combine treatments?

Sometimes. Some treatments are commonly planned in sequence, while others need time between sessions. We’ll recommend an order and spacing based on your skin and the products or devices involved.

Are aesthetic treatments covered by insurance?

Cosmetic treatments are generally not covered by health insurance. We’ll explain costs before your treatment. Financing through CareCredit may be available.

Who performs aesthetic treatments?

Our skin and laser clinic is physician-directed by Dr. Shin. Ask at your consultation who will perform your specific treatment.
